The question of who land belongs to is always problematic. The jews weren't the first inhabitants of the land we called Palestine. Most of the nations we have now were settled by people who migrated. USA was the home of the native indians. France was originally part of the Roman Empire before the barbarian migrations etc.

It's not enough to say that land belongs to someone just because they happen to have lived there at some point. It's way more complicated than that.

The northern 1/2 should be Palestine and the southern 1/2 Israel. interior the middle occupying Jerusalem should be the hot U.N. HQ with a hall that divides those lands from the Mediterranean to the pink Sea. Stationed there should be 2 hundred,000 guy quick reaction stress able to handing over a severe smack all the way down to each person interior the area that acts out of line. This answer creates peace interior the area and receives the U.N. out of lengthy island .

You wont win, this argument has been going on for a long time.
After the holocaust the British government decided to create a place where the displaced Jewish people from all over europe could live.
It seemed like a good idea at the time unless you happened to live in palestine and you were displaced to make way for these Jewish refugees.
It was not the fault of the Jews nor the Palestinians

Zionism is a kin to Nazism point blank. The jews in Isreal should be ashamed of themselves.

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.

In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 200,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.

This solution creates peace in the region and gets the U.N. out of New York .

Whether or not it's taught in schools anymore is beyond my knowledge since not only I but my children are past the school years. In any event, the simplest thing in the world is to sit down and read history. People have gotten lazy and would rather be spoon-fed the pap of the tabloids. Apparently they find that more interesting than the truth. You'd think at least the music buffs would know about, "This land is mine, God gave this land to me." Oh, well. A lot of us know.

Late note for Robert: No land on this planet but Israel has been given to anyone by God. The very name, Palestine, was a derogatory epithet given that land by the Brits some 10 or so decades ago. Perhaps land ownership is problematic in any case but Israel, but in Israel, history is clear. It has belonged to the Children of Israel for thousands of years, and unless you want to argue with God, it still does.

This is a "loaded question". The situation in the middle east has never been clear, and there are compelling arguments on both sides. The reality is, though, the nation of Israel exists, and will continue to exist, and solutions must be found that are at least acceptable to all. For a good overview of the history of modern Israel, look at the link below.

A dispute cannot be solved with violence. That's the mistake that Israeli politicians often make, and Israel does politically pays the price.

Violence breeds more violence. To think the so called "promised land" is for Jews only, and if one is going to fulfill that in reality, many lives would have to be lost.

Right now the Middle East is in no way stable and the current conflicts can explode at any moment. That will in any way make Israel more secure.

All religions serve such that people respect themselves and respect humanity. Are the Zionists extremists or the Islamic extrermists a representation of any humanity in itself?

Thats one question you should ask. God send all his Prophets to save humanity, and Muhhamad was his last Prophet.
