Surprise, you're a genius already. Every born child is a genius, but they forget they are due to being suppressed since childhood through education, culture, & religions.
Children are conditioned not to inquire, not to ask, to memorize without understanding, and this is more than enough to create a dull mentality.
Then you might ask, why are there geniuses if education is bad? Because modern geniuses are geniuses not only because of their mentality, but because they have a stubborn personality that made them oppose the flow of education and challenge it by not surrendering to the conditioning they faced.
In a brief example it means, when a child asks: "how did I get into this world?", and then the teacher tells him : "you will know when you grow up". The submissive child will give up asking the question after few times, but the genius will keep inquiring and using his mind in full potential to know the answer.
Every child is born a genius, but stubbornness is how a child *remains* a genius. So your question's answer is simple, you become a genius when you re-wire your brain to the condition it was when you were a child, and become a creative inquiring mind.
In this case genius is very correlated with creativity, the more creative you can become the more genius you will become. In your daily life, try doing unconventional things like eating with left (non-dominant) hand, or watching TV upside down, or whatever that is not traditional.
What you're trying to do through such exercises is re-training your brain to get back to its natural state of creativity by making your subconscious restart believing that there *are* new possibilities other than conformity. This will very much help refreshing your brain and making possibilities for new neural circuits, you will be more intuitive and feel intelligent.
On the other hand you might like to go through an exercise made by Dr. Win Wenger, called ImageStreaming. This exercise is meant to increase your IQ and your overall concentration & creativity by a theory called pole-bridging, which is linking your 5 senses through an external description of your internal visualization. You will know about it in more details if you followed the sources I provide you.
Never lose hope, we are all geniuses all we need is re-awakening our inner natural state of brilliance.

If "genius" is what you're asking about, you can't make yourself a genius. You either are or are not. You can, however, make yourself a very educated and knowledgeable person; which is sometimes more valuable than "raw genius".
If "generous" is what you mean, just do a few things that are a little on the generous side; and after a while you will have become more generous.

It's not from taking ginko, tried that.
My opinion, you either born that way, or your born that way and have to train yourself to think at a different level than everyone else. Hence Train you mind like you train your body. Michelangelo trained himself to draw moving objects, but could take a picture of something in his head while time stood still.

I was never a genius.... but have been called one before as if to insult the genuis that I am......
Yet, I am content with being a fool..... Takes the pressure off the 'face value' of my character...... I have nothing to declare!!!

I think you want to be GENIUS.
No one can be genius unless he/she has a primary ability or skil then he/she develops like poet or sciencist.
