The single MALE deity that the christians refer to as "god" is not absolute. The Yin-Yang is a perfect example. Light within darkness, darkness within light. There has to be a balance of good and evil that does not include two ultimatums, there has to be a spectrum of good/evil inside of everyone. If absolute good existed, without evil, there is no balance and balance is needed to live, so therefore god can not exist. Paganism weighs the balances of good and evil and incorporates it as a variable in everyday life, knowing that someone cannot be perfectly evil or perfectly good. It just doesn't happen. there are trickster gods and beautiful goddesses that weighs everything proportionately in Paganism, and therefore is the reason that I have chosen Paganism.

The concept that absolute power corrupts absolutely doesn't apply to God. Assuming He exists, He exists outside of natural law and therefore outside of corruptibility. God cannot be "corrupted" in the sense that mortals percieve.

God is on another level with us. God is beyond corruption, because while God has absolute power, God also has absolute good.

It's Satan who was corrupted.

You are assuming that absolute power can actually exist. Prove that first.

not in a good place. check out world hunger, religious wars, wars, hate crimes, abuse in children/spouse/animals, intolerance, murder, rape, and the list goes on. if there was a "god" ide say hes like a giant kid who likes to see suffering[POWER TRIP!!]. if this "god" is so powerful and created everything in 6 days bla bla bla....why cant he/she/it end the insignificant horrors on this tiny tiny tiny planet? so if there is a "god" i would say he is anything but "holy".

Since it's inherent for man to err, I'd say God is a safe bet.
