Taking a taxi would be very easy and straightforward, however, it would be more expensive than taking a bus.

For MRT, take the mrt either from City Hall MRT station or Bugis Station and go to Outram Park Station.
From Outram Park station, take the escalator down towards the basement and board a North-East Line train to Harbourfront Station.
When you reach Harbourfront station, follow the signs to the HarbourFront Bus interchange. Hop onto the orange Sentosa bus and you'll be on your way to Sentosa.
The Sentosa Bus:
The orange Sentosa bus plies to and from Sentosa and the HarbourFront Bus interchange.
Operating hours:
7am - 11pm (Sun - Thu)
7am - 12.30am (Fri, Sat and Eve of Public Holidays)

Last bus leaving Sentosa:
11pm (Sun - Thu)
12.30am (Fri, Sat and Eve of Public Holidays)

Bus fare: S$1 (payment at the Sentosa Visitor Arrival Centre; Island admission payable separately)

When you reach Harbourfront station, alternatively, you can also take Cable Car to Sentosa,
S$9.90/ Adult, S$4.50/ Child for a one-way trip from HarbourFront Tower 2 S$10.90 / Adult & S$5.50 / Child for a return trip.
(Child 3 - 12 yrs old)
S$15 / Adult & S$8 / Child for Glass cabin return trip.

if you have 4 adults, taxi is the coolest way to go. the bill split by 4 isn't too bad.

the next most easy and cost efficient way is via MRT.
Take from City Hall to HarbourFront, which is just across the water from Sentosa

buses are only good for those who know their way around, as it's hard to count bus stops, but you can ask the bus driver to tell you when the bus reaches your stop.

taxi is the best but it will cost around $10 or more. MRT is your best bet, take it from Bugis MRT station towards Boon Lay, and drop at Outram Station and change train to Harbourfront. This costs about $2 or more. hope this helps, cheers
