I hear alot of women (mostly caucasians and asians) that try so hard to look as skinny as possible. Why? Are you doing this because "women" or the media say having curves are unattractive?

I could only picture white and asian guys(the majority of them) wanting a women with a smaller, boyish frame which is strange. Black, latino and a small percentage of caucasian men like curves. Women were built differently from men for a reason. Personally, a cutie without a booty doesn't have a chance with me. Call it shallow if you want, but she just doesn't look very feminine to me if her backside sinks in as she walks. I don't want to touch her and certainly don't want to see her in the nude.

It also seems people getting what a nice booty looks like confused. men want a small waist(flat stomach) and a rounded shape. it's not about the size just as long as it's balanced with the rest of the body. Check out picks of Vida Guerra and than tell me paris hilton is more sexy. Not!!

To denoy: You're not making sense. How can a female with a small waist, round butt and flat stomach be fat + sloppy?

Winged victory: Put nicole richie, selma hayek and roseanne arnold in a line then tell a guy to choose. I gaurantee you most will choose selma.

Being skinny is seriously where Eastern culture met Western culture. Even in the United States, being a size ten at five foot six was considered "attractive" back in the fifties. As the years progressed, though, certain fashions made it almost impossible to be that size and "still look good". Take hip-huggers for instance. You couldn't take a woman with actual hips and a butt and put her in a pair of those restricting pants without making her look like she was "overflowing" out of those jeans. Those clothes were made for tiny girls.

As the decades have progressed, though, fashion has made it much more difficult for women to have that extra hips and bottom and get away with it. Shoot. They barely make "stylish" clothes for women who have those body frames. Most designers feel that a woman who has a butt that will fit in a size twelve will have a stomach that fits into one, too.

There are women of all different shapes and sizes, though, and quite a bit of that lies in genetics. Different parts of the world have been known to produce different body types, just as facial features are almost distinctive as to what a person's heritage is. Black women and hispanic women are naturally predispositioned to store fat in different places than Irish women and oriental women. Greek women, as depicted in older paintings, had hips, thighs, and if they had kids, stretch marks. Men found it attractive, as it signified fertility and showed that the woman was capable of bearing them sons.

As the time progressed, though, fuller figured women's sexiness to the opposite sex did, too. There are still parts of the world where fuller is better (not fat or obese... That's not healthy, and even fuller figured women know that), but the majority of the world has moved on to the latest fashion trends that have made it harder for women who are genetically predispositioned to have a fuller figure to get away with being less than a size five. Now, because of that, you have women who were never supposed to be a stick figure trying to accomplish the impossible by starving themselves and abusing laxatives.

Granted, your opinion on here differs from that of some other men, but not all of them. It is, after all, your opinion. Many women, though, who will never be a healthy size three, though, wish that there were more guys like you out there.

Paris Hilton is a dog. I don't care how much she weighs. lol... I think that the Jeanine Garofalos and Queen Latifahs of the world are more attractive. There's a "real" quality about them that some of these runway models don't have. That's only my opinion, though. I thought the woman who starred in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" was a beauty, because she wasn't a perfect size two. She depicted what a woman should look like OFF of the runway. She showed what MOST women look like.

Skinny girls are not unattractive. Some of them are genetically built to be naturally thin. I am one of those girls. I'm in a size five, and I'm five months pregnant! Men find me attractive, but I've looked at girls that have fuller bottoms, and wished that I could have one of those.

Fuller girls shouldn't get discouraged. Some of us tiny women envy some of their curves!

It is definitely a cultural thing that has happened only during this time period. Before women who had weight were considered sexy cuz that meant they were healthy and of a rich family. On guys abs use be a sign of being poor so it was unattractive. Ever since fast food took over with it's dollar menu being fat has been too easy (sometimes unavoidable) and the opposite has happened being skinny is hot. Now I have seen some really attractive skinny girls and some really attractive meaty girls. Sometimes skinny is a bad thing. Linsday Lohan was hot before she lost all her weight. But you look at Britney Murphey she got hot when she got skinny. The Olsen Twins would look good if they would put on some freakin weight. The idea's of beauty are constantly changing. In china it use to be fat women with small noses. I for some reason think Ashley Simpson was totally hot until she got her plastic surgery done ( I don't know why). But some things have always stayed the same in classifying beauty, Youthful look, Symmetrical face, Exaggerated feminine ( or for men masculine) features ie a round face for women and a chiseled look for men.

Nobody's interested in what men like.

The medical fact is that slender and fit are the healthiest things to be. White women and Asian women may be more educated about that in general (if, in fact, what you say about Caucasians and Asians is true) - and that's "the deal" with why so many women want to be slender.

Now the ideal weight (established by organizations/people dealing in what is healthiest) has been lowered for everyone. Slender people generally don't get Type II diabetes or any number of other health problems that shorten lives.

Again, what you like isn't the point.

i'm a size 28... 6 and i do have a tiny waist, flat tummy and etc...
i wouldnt dare dream of advising any women to try look that way because i would love to have those curves and what not. i did not choose this body, but i must accept what God gave me. but what pisses me off is that girls so believe they have to be tinier and what not be deemed beautiful/attractive and etc... i modelled for a couple of years and hated it, because people are never happy with your body. they are trying to lose weight when they already frail in comparison to stick figures. the industry is catty and looks down on bigger fuller women.any woman out there who doesnt look like paris... be happy! skinny girls also do have problems....!

"men want a small waist(flat stomach) and a rounded shape."

Please Sir let me ask you this, have you spoken with every man in the world? I really don't think you have, so I don't think you can state that as if it's a fact. Because some men like really skinny women, some like overweight women. Point is, men like a bunch of different shaped women. If they didn't then, well... there'd be a lot of lonely women.

But to try and answer your question. The media has a lot to do with why women want to be skinny. Or.. I don't know, maybe we like being skinny? >_>

curves ARE hot.... any man i have been with has made the comment "i dont care how much you work out , just dont lose that azz!"
i dont want to be super skinny it looks unhealthy
besides if anyone knows anything they would know that the reason designers want girls with NO SHAPE is because they want to show off the clothing not the girl so pretty much all a model is ... is a hanger and that is really what they look like with no T&A...lol!!!!!!

I'm from the United States. We have a lot more fat chicks than girls who are "too skinny." While there's nothing particularly attractive about a "stick," they're not near as revolting as a hulking she-beast. There's way too much "fat acceptance" in this country disguised as a love of "natural curves."

Well, I suppose that was very sweet of you, but you'd have to be a girl to understand why being skinny is so important to pretty much all girls. We constantly compare ourselves (usually our bodies) to other girls around us and ladies we see in the media, and feel inadequate if we're bigger. Big=unbeautiful to most of us. It's a big mental thing that is hard to overcome.

I'd say it's Hollywood that tries to make girls and women think they need to be a size zero in order to be accepted in society.

IOW women are not allowed to like their own bodies whatever size they may be.

i'd say a lot of it's media, a lot of it's culture (which of course greatly overlaps with media), and a fair amount of it, at least in the u.s., is a movement toward healthier living. i'm talking here about people wanting to be a healthy weight, not about people obsessing about a desire to look like a little boy.
