he ideal weight for a man who is exactly 5 feet tall is 106 pounds. For every additional inch above 5 feet, add 6 pounds. To determine whether you have a small, medium or large frame, measure your wrist. If your wrist measures exactly 7 inches, you have a medium frame and you do not need to adjust your ideal weight. If your wrist is smaller than 7 inches, you have a small frame and should subtract 10 percent from your ideal weight. If your wrist is larger than 7 inches, you have a small frame and should add 10 percent to your ideal weight.

Believe it or not, your healthy weight could be anywhere from 114 to 150 lbs., according to the BMI tables. Unfortunately, these fail to take into account your bodyfat percentage. Males should have between 4 and 12% body fat to be healthy, so you could weigh 130 lbs. and be in lousy health, with a fat percentage of, say, 18%. Or you could weigh 160lbs and be in great health with a fat percentage around 7%. You follow?
The short version: aim for between 120 and 160 lbs., and don't overexercise, or you risk lowering your body fat to dangerous levels.
For the long and accurate version, consult a nutritionist, a physical therapist, or a trainer. Just be sure the nutritionist and/or trainer have been properly certified and educated.
