I have never understood the whole KISS thing. I have always listened to rock n roll but have always thought of KISS as a fake band like the Archies. Did the band play their own insturments or hire studio people. I heard the song Beth today and found it to be terrible. Please help me with this one. Gene Simmons I find utterly revolting.

Yes, they all played their own instruments. I always thought they were great fun. They created an image and had a blast with it, not to mention making huge amounts of money in the process.

LOL OMG you must be joking? Of course KISS is real. I've seen them in concert, on TV shows, and my boyfriend has met Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. They are a great band who never cared what people thought of their singing ability. They play their own instruments and the song "Beth" was dedicated to one of the guys' wife. Honestly, kids these days don't really know what music is.

Def real. The first concert I ever went to at Hara Arena way back in 1975.. .. Gene DSimmons did the tongue thing and "blood" spurted out. They put on a great show.

Well, there wasnt a lot of other choices for 3 chord rock gods in those days. It was just something new, Some of the early songs were fun, and good teenage angst songs. Strutter, firehouse, cold gin, first few albums were "definative' of those times. guess you had to be there.
