I had morgellons! every horrific symptom!
Nobody believed me... I have many opinions on the disease... I believe I know exactly how I got it and how I was cured. Although some claim there is no cure, there are also idiots who claim there is no disease!
DP can be caused by many things.... it's the whole suite of symptoms that convinced me and my doc that I had M.

You CANNOT "block it out." It certainly exists, but the cause is "currently a medical mystery." Thousands of people have it. Peripheral nervous system & central nervous systems are affected. "Most physicians would not recognize this illness as anything other than a dillusional disorder." It seems the answer is that so far, NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING, so, simplistic answers are to be expected. If you want to get into this further, I suggest you try wikipedia--the disease, the foundation & so on. Just type in the name of the disease on your main page, enter, & you'll get a lot of choices to explore. I've no idea how they may help you, but it's a start. I knew a man who suffered from horrid skin "disorders" & other symptoms for many, many years. He saw at least 6 dermatologists, & they'd only suggest he use a "milder" laundry soap, & it was only when he was diagnosed with a rare disease, (huge tumours, blackened skin), coinicidentally being studied at Stanford, that they identified it. The tragedy is that it didn't need to be terminal if it had been diagnosed, & treated in time. Also curious, is that it was a Swedish dermatologist who originally came up with the TEST, yet none of the dermatologists ever took the test. The oncologist told me he had probably had it for well over 15 years. Much of his arm was removed, & he died horribly--I was there 24/7. I'm a very bull headed person, & have learned that you MUST research every possible resource. Please don't stop. Go at it head on. The only reason I can speculate that it's been "put on the back burner" is that NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING. Heaven forbid their ignorance be exposed. I'm thinking that the "foundation" may give you the best information. (Sugar & carbohydrates are bad for this disease, so they say.) YOU need to go into this fully, & relentlessly. I know that I would. You truly have my empathy.

Morgellons is an unusual parasite-like skin disease which produces irritating sores all over the body. The disease is characterized by slow healing skin lesions that often extrude small, dark filaments, especially after bathing. The sores ooze blue fibers, white threads and little black specks of sand-like material. Since the only treatment that has been known to work is a very long term antibiotic therapy, this strongly suggests something foreign is present in the body. According to current researchers all 50 states have shown this disease although it appears to be more prevalent in three southern states. The majority of individuals reporting symptoms of Morgellons Disease reside in California, Texas, and Florida. Several distinct "cluster" areas of this disease have been noted (in order of cluster density) near Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, and Austin, Texas.
The mysterious skin disease is spreading across the country. It's a parasite-like infection that will literally make your skin crawl. Patients say it feels like bugs are crawling all over you and to make matters even worse many doctors say the victims are delusional.

The sickly skin disease has actually been around for centuries. In 1935, an English physician wrote a paper about Morgellon’s including excerpts from medical journals from the 1600’s, describing the disease. Unfortunately, not much was known then about Morgellon’s -- and not much has been learned in the more than 400 years since. Doctors don't know what causes the disease, who is at risk and exactly how many people may be suffering. The Morgellons Foundation says they have about 1,200 people registered on their site. Those are only people who have a computer and happened to find them online. The foundation fears the real number of people infected with this mystery disease is much higher. Doctors said they have noticed that many patients who complain about Morgellons symptoms have also been treated or are undergoing treatment for Lyme disease, which suppresses the immune system. The doctors said when the immune system is corrected, the crawling feelings under the patient's skin is often corrected too.
According to the Morgellons Research Foundation additional symptons include: An extremely high percentage of our members report the following: Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia (Myalgic Encephalopathy or ME), "brain fog" or cognitive decline, ADHD, mood disorders (primarily Bipolar Disorder and depression), joint swelling and pain, rapid visual and neurological decline, autoimmune disease, and hair loss. Many of these common additional symptoms appear to be related to inflammation. For more information on Morgellons, visit the research foundation's Web site at http://www.morgellons.org/

Ok, I read about your condition and that's what I recommend you to do. Find a shaman or a voodoo doctor in your area, a good one, and go see him/her. Its certain that western medicine cannot help you.
