I need to know his ideas how they affected people around him why do we remember him today do i think his ideas are revevant why or why not i have know idea what any of the info that i find means i need something i can understand

Copernicus spent years gathering positions of stars and planets in the night's sky, then was the first known person to reasonably postulate that the Earth was NOT the center of the universe. He stated that the Earth, as well as the other planets, rotated around the SUN, a revolutionary idea in its time, and one not easily accepted by the scientific and religious communities of his age.

Not to age myself, but the internet was not available when I was in the 7th grade. I found a few great sources in the library. To be honest with you, I just looked at the table of contents and chose a few that seemed to make sense to me. I then went into the chapters and expanded a bit on what I found. Bear in mind that Copernicus challenged the astrological model set in place by the religious heirarchy.
