What if homosexuality is mother natures way of solving overpopulation?
Maybe the more units we keep popping out the higher % of them are gonna turn up gay.

An interesting theory and ......strangely rational. What if homosexuality is a mental defect brought upon humanity to cure over population? That would assume that the earth has a form of Spirit Protector capable of such things.

It's possible.
However, there are surely numerous and complex reasons for homosexuality in various individuals and societies. You can't just give one simple answer.
I do wish you hadn't phrased your question so crudely, however.
