I'm planning to visit Abu Dhabi in the New Year's holidays. I'm having a Qatar residence. Would I need anything else to get into Abu Dhabi (like a letter of invitation or a visa from a resident there). I've been hearing lots of things which I'm not sure of!! Like I should have been resident in Qatar for the past five months...is that true? Some of my friends say no.
I'd appreciate if somebody out there would know FOR SURE if I'd be requiring anything else other than the Qatar resident to get a visa on arrival at Abu Dhabi airport. By the way, my profession is an Engineer, so that won't be an issue.
Cheers...

With your profession, shouldn't be a problem. I know various things are being told to you bout getting the VOA (Visa on arrival), but the main thing the guys look for is that your Passport and RP is valid for at least 6 months at the time you are entering the UAE.

Like mentioned earlier, would be best to check with your Airline, I;m sure you'll fly QR, so check with them.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi,

Once you obtained your residence visa, it is also valid fro frequent trips into and out of the country, although an exit permit must be obtained for each departure. If you have been in Qatar longer than 30 days you have to obtain this exit permit before leaving. This is usually done by your sponsor's representative and can be obtained within a couple hours
An office has been opened at the airport where permits can be obtained 24 hours the day.
Keep this exit permit always with your passport and get a visit visa up on arrival in Abu Dhabi. You being an engineer - no problem. It might cost you DHS 100,00
Many Hotels will not charge you for the visa cost, if you book online.
I you plan to go out at new years eve, make reservations. It will be a long weekend (eid) and every place will be packed.

PS: your residence permit must be for one year or longer. Otherwise it is not possible to get a on the spot visa in UAE

Happy new year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you are an Engineer and having valid Qatari residence permit, no need a prior visa visa for you to visit Abu Dhabi. You will get entry visa upon your arrival at the airport, which costs you UAE Dirhams 100.

Happy journey.

I dont think your husband can sponsor your sister as you have to provide a lot of documents to show that she is your sister as she is young and single usually immigration dont issue visa on personal sposnorship to your sister. Its better to go for a visa from any travel agency which will be a tourist visa for 30 days ans can be extended for further one month. Better to go to immigration office and ask the precise requirement of the documents if you insist on going for your husband's sponsorship

All GCC residents can enter UAE and get the Visa in the airport.
Make sure you have a copy or better original residential card and you should have resided there for atleast six months.
Better yet just check with the airline on specifics to your nationality.
