Hi.
It's good that they are the ones who want you to stand as their witness. So first of all, before getting involved in that case confirm from them if they are ready to listen to whatever the counselling you are about to give them as well as being ready to accept the mistake, for whoever will be on the wrong side, why do they decide to involve you? If they accept all these requests, then go ahead, call them and try to convince these two friends to let you know all about the story. Listen attentively and give aproppriate solution.
Now insist that if they need you to be their witness then, the case must be withdrawn completely and immediately, let them forgive each other there and there. If they can't do that then confirm to them that you are not ready to continue or be involved in that case and so let them finish it by themselves. Because;
There is no way you can be a party to this kind of a problem and between your real friends. If you do then how will you react after realising a mistake on one friend, will you continue being a friend to them any more? Take notice that; if this happen then you are going to remain agreat enemy to these two! hey you won't believe it. The only thing you can do is just to get a solution to their problem so they continue with their relationship without holding any grage to one another.

Sometimes being a friend means to do things the others don´t want you to. Sometimes you know better. Could you actually be a witness? If then for which side? What is your judgment on the situation? Be true to yourself and you will always find away to justify your way of action. You would value a truthful answer more than just a favor.

I would tell them I'm not getting involved cause it will ruin your relationship with one of them. This way neither can come down on you.

I would tell them both that I do NOT want to testify for either one of them. You want to remain their friend. If you testify, you will lose them both as friends. Is that worth it to you?......And them?
