Of course they can. Talent is talent and if the right person sings the right song at the right time then it will be a hit. We have seen swing, metal, punk, pop, all sorts of music dominate the cultural landscape. It is only a mater of time until some one records a Gospel track with just that right beet that will be the best piece of music for the period of time during which the world chooses to groove to it.

there is a difference between gospel and secular artist. when a secular artist becomes big and hits the charts, he gets all the praises and the fame. i believe gospel artists are not aiming for that because all they want to do is to give praise to the LORD and not towards themselves. they do not get the adoration, the praises and the fame, it all belongs to Him.

There isn't a high demand for christian or gospel music as compared as hip hop or pop music. I think if they were to crossover to the pop genre they would be big. Or even the other way around, look at Michelle Williams. She was big with Destiny's Child, but when she did her solo Gospel album, she didn't sell nearly as much as she would of if it were a R&B or pop album.

yeah randy travis is a gospel/country singer and is very famous and made a lot of money. gospel artists are just as famous and rich they just dont flaunt it all like the money and fame.

i think Gospel Music is over done, too many people say they started singing in church...when church vocal are actually very bad..........just because u can hold a note for 3 mins.. doesn't mean u have soul...just because u can do runs and arpeggios doesn't mean u have soul either....
Why don't people sing with real emotion not fake emotion and get over the church style

I don't regularly listen to it, but I like Christian music, IE, praises God, Jesus, or encourages His followers. Gospel seems like its in a class like country music, so I don't know whether I have listened to it or not

Depends on who is singing. I enjoy gospel as much as rock as long as the singer can sing.
