I read that Robotussin thins your cervical mucus so that the sperm can swim into your uterus easier. Has anyone ever heard this before? Is it true? What is in Robotussin that does this?
THANKS!!

I have never heard it before. It is possible, but I am sure it isn't something recommended. More like a wives tale. Some of them are downright true.

For instance patients with Fibromyalgia have figured out that robotussin helps with their aches & pains. Enough of these patients have told their doctors this that the doctor consider it possible. Some even recommend it.

Robotussin does thin secreations in the body and perhaps just might help a woman become pregnant. I don't think it is all that simple a cure for infertility. If robotussin helps thin secretions, then drinking lots of water will do the same thing.

I have read this in Men's Health magazine. The man is supposed to take the cough syrup to thin his sperm out so they can swim easier/faster. Also I read that if a man drinks a caffeinated drink about an hour before sex that also helps move his "guys".

I have heard about this It thins the cervical mucus making it easier for the sperm to swim to the egg. I have always heard to buy Mucinex..which is not a syrup but actually a tablet. It had the most Guaifenesin in it. Don't buy the Mucinex DM though because the other drug in it can cause birth defects,

yes it dose thin your cervical mucus its because cough suryps are ment to decongest you but it cant just break up the chest congestion it breaks up many fluids made by the body

when i was breast feeding my son i couldnt take anything with a decongestant in it because it would dry up my milk supply

hope that helps as to why it dose it

Yep, one of the ingredients (Gauffisen?? I can't spell it!) thins secretions. Theoretically, when you take it, it will thin the CM. Be sure to use the plain robitussin.
