I'm having a problem. I need to package my necklaces so that they don't SHIFT inside the box. I'm using a layer of foam inside the jewelry box when shipping my necklace. Some of the necklaces have pendants and the pendants never stay PUT inside the box! The layer of foam is NOT enough to hold the necklace in place. It shifts around way too easily. It doesn't look good when you open the necklace box and it doesn't sound good inside the box. Is there a name for some kind of necklace padding that I can use to hold the necklace and pendant in place? Where can I find something like that? Does anyone know of any websites where I can buy it? Anyone know of any places in NYC where I can buy proper jewelry boxes with proper padding? (Right now, I pay 4.75 per dozen necklaces boxes w/ layer of cotton foam inside. The box is made of cardboard with a cute pattern on the outside). Thanks!

If you want them to stay "in position" in the box, you might want to create a fake "floor" (could be as simple as a piece of cardstock the same size as the inside of your box bottom). Punch one or two small holes in the fake floor where you want the top of your pendant to be, then use wire or a clear twist tie, etc., to thread through the jumpring or the chain/cording and through the hole to the back side of the fake floor. Then place that in the box bottom.
Or you could put cording/chain through slits in the top of it too, etc.

There is also some non-adhesive plastic "wrap" that comes on a roll (2-4" wide, for example) that's often used to hold shipped items tightly to their bases... it sticks to itself.

But you might also want to just use something with more control than a thin piece of foam as a spacer .... things like thicker foam or a piece of bubble-wrap, etc. Sometimes I even blow air into ziptop bags with a straw to create my own buffers or spacers in packages (those bags come in really small sizes too).
...You could also just put the whole necklace in a small ziptop baggie, then attach the baggie to the fake bottom, etc.

Or you could also use an adhesive of some kind behind the pendant that wouldn't leave a mark, I guess. Some of that clear stiff-gel stuff that holds credit cards in place when mailed, etc, comes to mind, but not sure where you'd get it. There are also "repositionable" or temporay adhesives in tape or spray form that might work just behind the pendant.

You might also want to check out this page for a bit more:

... click on Miscellaneous, then scroll down to "Shipping"

Good luck!

Hi !
Maybe you could try other ways of packaging ? I purchased a beautiful piece of jewellery online and it was sent in a mini handbag with the companies name printed on it. It was very high quality & cute. It was sent in a box too though. I guess you could try buying higher quality boxes but this may cost more. Also you could try just wrapping them i tissue paper then using ribbon to make it look pretty. You can find wholesalers of gift boxes in these links below too. If you email me I can help search for you too :)

Create a style call that shoppers can have confidence via applying the proprietors call. Bob's rings keep is homey, right down to earth and something people will tell their toddlers approximately as they take walks downtown; "there is Bob's keep. superb Jeweller on the city.." this is the superb form of long-term have confidence in a truthful product and honest deal ever. each thing else is fluff that panders to three whim, yet won't stand the try of time.
