i noticed someone on here recommended honey to you, DONT TRY IT, you could cause a severe allergic reaction. it isnt advised to try honey with a child until they are over 2 years old. also, dont try the karo syrup, all it is is corn syrup with high fructose corn syrup, one of the worst things in an american's diet anyways. try adding just a touch of plain sugar if your daughter wont drink plain water, my mom had the flavored pedalite and mixed a very very small amount of that in with 2 oz of water, it was pretty much just enough to give the water a very slight hint of color. perhaps as little as 1/2 teaspoon or so

Hi, Congrats on the new bub! You can give your baby cooled boiled water, especially if she is more thirsty than hungry, but it MUST be boiled, then cooled. At two months she won't need much but that depends on her size and the weather. I don't know what karo syrup is but would be careful giving anything to a baby. As for the hiccups they are pretty normal to occur every now and then and won't hurt her and they should settle down in a couple of months as a part of her normal development. Hope this helps! M :-)

Babies should NEVER have corn syrup or honey. They can both contain botulism spore, which babies have no defense against. Also, Karo is CORN Syrup! Corn is highly allergenic and unnecessary for infants. Babies don't relly need extra water to drink. If you want to get the milk of her tongue use a damp soft cloth to wipe her gums and tongue, or one of those baby finger toothbrushes.

Water can be given to babies from the time they are born, just not large amounts. The karo syrup though is not healthy for the baby, that is too sweet, try flavoring the water with vanilla extract and a bit of sugar if it must be flavored. (Some children hate plain water.) However plain water is the best if she will drink it that way.

You can give a baby boiled water any time from birth but no more than 60ml, I gave all of my children water at a couple of days old because tepid boiled water can assist in bringing up wind in your baby. Also it is so hot here water is good to help stop your baby from dehydrating. So long as you don't substitute it for breast milk, it will not hurt your baby in any way.
Good luck !

I started giving my baby water like immediately after birth but only ensure that the water is boiled to assure its safety, drank when warm and just in small quantities thats all.

My pediatrician advised not to give my daughter water until she was at least 12 months old. He said she needed the calories and fat from milk and juice more and that she got enough water content from them. I don't think it will hurt her in small quantities. Go with your motherly instincts!

They're not supposed to have water at this age and it can actually be harmful if they're given too much water. Just milk for now.

my doctor always told me not to give mine any water, at that age they need all the nutrition they can get and there is no nutritional value at that age in water.
I just noticed someone suggested honey in your babys water, dont do it, you shouldn't give a baby honey until after 1 years old because of the risk of botalism (not sure of spelling).
