Most responsible, educated adults view communism as dangerous. The reason is because those that are semi-conscious of history have watched communism/socialism/Marxism-Leninism fail miserably time after time. Marx's biggest problem when conceiving this grand idea was his flagrant disregard of human nature. The dream of World Socialism, confidently predicated and awaited with the anticipation a Christian might have for the second coming, not only failed to materialize, but many formerly socialist states are giving capitalism a try now that their formerly socialist governments collapsed under the weight of their failed economy.
Edit: why is L e n i n i s m a censored word?

That's a pretty good question.
There are good and bad things about every economic and political systems and philosophies. The Russians did not apply it properly. There are still communist states around the world.
The only smart Communist nation or possibly the smartest of all nations is China. The government cabinet is Communist but the Chinese economy is market oriented. And I am sure that the US economy is highly dependent on China's cheaply made high quality goods (thier toys are famous).
I live in Thailand, and I can tell you that the Chinese leaders are highly commited to thier nation. But I have no doubt that there are various human rights abuses and denial to certain liberal ideas. Nobody dares point a finger at the Chinese government, not even human rights organizations.
I think President Mao (father of Chinese Communism) wanted something that's best for the Chinese and that lives within deep within Chinese politics, society and economy.
I don't the Communism is a threat to the US. The one thing that the US is having trouble with is the Middle East. From the looks of things, the Middle East will explode one day, and the US might have to pay a heavy political and military price for that.

Communism in a form of socialism.
It has failed each and every time it is tried. Lines for food and people living in small cramped homes with little heat.
Why does this happen?
It fails at the base. The base is common ownership and how each takes from the system. It does not matter how hard you work you get the same as the man that does not work. So what happens the hard works slow and no work get done. We are human and we need that carrot to make us work hard.
Communism is set up for and by the lazy so they can be more lazy and still eat.
By the way the Nazis were socialist to

You're kidding, right? Stuck back in the middle of the 20th century cold war era? Communism has been discredited as a viable economic system. All communist states which are prosperous today have turned to free markets. Put down your copy of Sayings of Chairman Mao and read a book by a Nobel Prize winning economist, the late Milton Friedman.

Fascism "a governmental equipment led by a dictator having finished ability, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all marketplace, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism." Communism "an concept or equipment of social business enterprise based on the preserving of all property in undemanding, definitely possession being ascribed to the community as an entire or to the state."

you must be 12 yrs old as you have no clue what the USA and the world went thru for the past 55+ yrs with Russia as a communist country.
Plus if you think its all that great....why is Russia in ruins now due to communism?
get out the USA as you clearly don't belong here nor understand why THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS have died so you can sit there in your prissy little house typing on this stupid box we call a computer in the first place.
with communism you'd be still at the factory finishing your 17 hour shift for your 1 loaf of bread for the day to come home to a bare 12x12 room with 1 single bed and 1 picture...your dictator. no religion is allowed, no free speech is allowed, no free travel is allowed, nothing!!!!!!!!

The Chinese will answer that question in this century. It will be very interesting. Having gone to China several times, I say watch out capitalism. Those people are hard workers and dedicated as hell.

economically communism is very inefficient! VERY! Trust me at that. And low desire for inovation. Oh, and the humanitarian issues are there... and how it threatens us....
Communism threatens us politically on a international scale and more importantly economically on an international scale. When a country has many rescources but is using them unnefectivaly, it hurts world trade.
the list goes on, i just dont wanna type.

Most Americans view it as a threat because during the cold war it was labeled as "godless."
It is nice on paper....but has never worked in practice.

If you don't mind sharing almost everything and owning almost nothing.....yes it would be better. Ultimately, you have freedom with capitalism.....yes, you have poor people, middle income, and rich people, but you have freedom.
