It would help a lot if you posted the chart.

The answer is...if all you have is 2 points, there's no shortcut.

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting at, but if you have an equation of a line, you can find the slope by putting that equation in slope-intercept form, y = mx + b. "m" is the slope and "b" is the y intercept. If you only have two points on the line, however, the formula you gave is the only way to find the slope

Well there a easier way of writing it.

Delta y = y2- y1

Delta Y divide by Delta X

(Delta is a greek symbol)

Also using calculus is another way of finding the slope but that sometimes gets a little hard =P

no m= y1-y2 (divide) x1-x2 come on lazy its really really not hard to find the slope its fuking easy

not really. it isnt that complicated. change in y divided by change in x.
