Is 113 an average IQ for a high school sophmore?

I took a IQ test today and that was my score, i dont really know how IQ's work so if could get some decent answers that would be dandy

IQ is the level of common sense one has for their age group. This does not mean nor relate to book smarts. But common sense, being able to see outside the box, etc.

By definition, 100 is the average IQ, and if I remember correctly, the standard deviation is 15. So your IQ is slightly higher than average. As the previous answerer included, 50% of people are in the 90-110 range.

I don't believe in IQ that much because I think the construct is invalid. It is supposed to measure a quality that a doesn't change over the course of a person's life, but there are many things that are known to affect IQ. So it seems like IQ doesn't really exist.

Also, IQ is based on old-fashioned notions of intelligence. Many early IQ tests were based heavily on verbal ability. Nowadays, many psychologists and researchers recognize that there are different types of intelligence than those tested with IQ tests. So it's also a narrow concept.

I don't know what my IQ is, and I can't see how knowing it would improve my life.

I think that 90 to 110 is the normal range. 113 is a bit higher than the statistical average.
With your high IQ and a dollar you can buy a cup of coffee. Remember tenacity harnesses IQ.

Despite 'averages' and stuff, most 'normal' people are over 100.
