This Christmas is only me & my 13 1/2 yo kid. My estranged husband will be away with his highly paid mistress.
I want my kid to be happy disregarding the family situation. Any suggestions: for food, surprises, presents, ideas

Christmas is about love. Celebrate with love. That's my best advice.
Food: Spaghetti would be nice... How about baby-back ribs? You cant' fail with ribs. That's physically impossible.

Well you didn't say if your teenager was a boy or girl, Maybe you can have a small and simple christmas party with a few of his friends and close family members (mostly ones his/her own age). If its a girl maybe she could have a sleepover with a few of her friends. Good Luck and Merry Christmas.

Make it ALL about him. Take him out for breakfast then to a movie. Spend the entire day with him.
