They call it "Rhythm Method" or "Calendar Method".
You must chart your menstrual cycles on a calendar for several months. If your periods are the SAME LENGTH every month, you may be able to predict the day of ovulation. Your 'unsafe days' are both BEFORE and AFTER ovulation. Because the egg lives for 24 hours, sperm need to either be there to meet it or arrive shortly after ovulation for you to get pregnant. You are unsafe from 7 days before your day of ovulation to 4 days after ovulation. This is because sperm can live up to seven days in you. They have consistently been found alive and well five days after intercourse.

If you ar married and are willing to take the chance of becomming pregnant do not have sex near ovulation & vise versa for pregnancies & always use the pull out method. To track your ovulation use babycenter.com. But keep in mind you will still have a 20 to 30 % chance of pregnancy every month as well my OB says many woman are very fertile on theri period

Abstinence. If you don't want to get pregnant and will not be using birth control, abstinence is the only way. No matter how careful you track your ovulation or use the withdrawal method or whatever natural way you want to use, they are not foolproof. I would suggest condoms and a spermicide if you don't want to take birth control pills.

The Problem with most Preggy Controls is that it affects your moods terrible. Theey go up and down like crazy and sometimes you dont even know when you peri is coming. Condoms are your best choise if you want to make you BFriend/Husband happy but if you want to make them evern more happy, find out at the Pharmacy about Female Condoms and Swap between them and mens condoms ever so often

if you are looking to get pregnant, take your temp, it will be slightly higher on days when you can concieve but you will need a digital or a special thermometer for this, if you are not trying to get pregnant than no natural or "cycle" birth control is very effective, I would say less than 20%

The word NO. Don't need to map your cycle, don't have to rely on pills or condoms or spermacides. It can go with you wherever you go and not be in the way. You can use it whether you are ovulating or not, it doesn't have any hormonal effects either and you don't need a prescription for it.
