Yeah. Koalas are considered to be exotic animals. Unless you work for the San Diego Zoo or are Paris Hilton, you won't be seeing a a koala up close and personal any time soon.
Besides, I just read an article about the dangers of exotic animals. In it, they were discussing a handler at a zoo who was bitten by an exotic anima called a kinkajou. The animal was infested with a type of bacteria that doctors had never seen before and she nearly lost her frig gin' hand. Yikes!
Here is a site that helps you find out if a particular animal is legal in your area.

The Koala and Panda would be prohibitively expense in feeding/obtaining their food sources, and the Polar bear would require more food, but it would be easier to obtain, as they would eat a larger variety of food types. The Koala and Panda aren't Bears, and actually might be more delicate to keep. The Polar would just be a Bull in a China shop. I'll go with big though. Dallas

No! They are a wild animal. Wild animals shouldn't be kept as pets. That would be selfish and ridiculous. Would you be able to give it eucalyptus leaves? Do you know how to take care of it if it becomes ill? Are you a veterinarian or a wildlife expert, a zoologist?
Get my point? Get a normal housepet and be happy w/that!!
