Firstly I am assuming that the story is of very old golden days.
Lion killed the cow. Where? If cow has been to jungle, one cann't blame lion. But if lion was coming out of jungle & killing cattles, King has to kill the lion. Tomorrow lion may kill people. It was Kings duty to kill lion & save his people's life & property.
No good king will kill lion if lion has killed the cow in deep jungle. King will compensate the farmer & warn him to not to graze his cattle in jungle. Lion should hunt in jugle & jungle only.
It was nobody'y fault. Everybody was doing his KARMA.

The lion killing the cow for food is the only "right" act in the sense that it was natural, necessary, and the purpose was justifiable because the lion must kill to survive. The king killing the lion was wrong because the lion had every justifiable right to kill and eat the cow , and because humans are supposed to be smarter than that.... killing the lion wont bring the cow back and where there is one lion there is more. The correct thing for the king to do would be to use his intelligence to create a method to prevent further lion predation on cows, like hiring a guardian for the herd. To often humanity takes blind revenge on animals without purpose or justification, it would be better for us to use our unique ability of inventiveness and creativity to outwit the animals instead of killing them.

The act of killing the lion is right, because it is for survival. For the king to exact punishment on the lion for being its nature is definitely wrong, for that is forcing one justice on another. One might as well blame the cow for eating grass.

The first is justified because one would die either way. If the lion could not kill a cow because it was right and a cow couldn't east the grass because because its destroying nature.
If one does not eat then then other shouldn't eat because its not right.
But we are not born just to die. We are born to live. If the lion were to die because it was 'wrong' to eat the cow for survival, then the lion would not have been born since its parents would not have been born because they cannot eat.
The king killing the lion doesn't do anything. Its a meaningless murder.

The lion killed as a need to survive to perhaps even feed it's young. The king killed because of fear of loss of his cow and judgement of self importance. Power over is fear of that which you can not control or understand. Look at the majority of religions in the world.

The lion killing the cow is justified, as it did for the food. At the same time you cannot hold the king as wrong. It is the duty of King to protect his people and their property. So it was the kings duty to kill the lion.

Both the lion and the King were competing for the same resources. This act in and of itself was not wrong. If the cow was weak and sick, and the king had hundreds of other cows, it would be understandable why people would look down on this act.
