I would suggest you give firefox a try.
My pages act. seem to load up faster with it, and It freezes less. When it does freeze though, you have the option to continue where you last left off, when firefox froze.

I see you have learned what so many others have also learned the hard way. IE7 is a pain in the butt! Even Yahoo has now acknowledged this...but they still PUSH it! IE7 causes many problems. You can uninstall it by using your ADD/REMOVE program on the control panel. IE6 is still on your computer and will work
Some people like to download Firefox from a free site on the web. You can do that too, but also keep IE6 so you have a choice. Firefox ain't perfect either! Click on start, then CONTROL PANEL, then on add/remove,then scroll down and find Internet Explorer7 and remove it.

I don't know how your computer told you that you needed to have IE 7 before Jan 7. I think Microsoft is just using this chance to be top on the market again.
Now lets go to the point, you don't need to have IE 7. Its just a **** on your computer. Just use Firefox and you would be fine.
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > (then find the **** and remove it right away)
Sadly IE 6 is still there if you remove his son..

Not necessarily! you dont need to install IE7 as a mandatory one....However you can try to use it...it is better than IE6 though,,,,,however if you want to uninstall it....it is a simple process of going to the add/remove programs in your control panel and uninstall it without any issues at all...You will be restored to IE6 in the WinXP or Win 2000 as well......Hope that answers your question.......It is however bundled out with the latest offering of Windows Vista though.....

You don't really need it, but since you already have it, the easiest way would be to use a restore point. If you didn't you can manualy roll it back by going to start->control panel->add remove programs, find and click on internet explorer 7 and click remove.

To revert back to IE-6, use your add / remove programs in control panel, just be sure that "Show Updates" is checked up at the top.
It is YOUR computer, only install what YOU want!
Good luck.
