spermatogenesis- is the physiological prosess that produces sperm and oogenesis- is the process that produces ovum

That probably is not enough of an answer unless you are trying to pass a test question that is simply the question you asked.

I suspect you probably already know that sperm are the male reproductive agents and the ovum are the female egg that produce a zygote when they get together.

Spermatogenesis is the production or development of mature spermatozoa. Spermatozoa is the mature motile male sex cell of an animal, by which the ovum is fertilized, typically having a compact head and one or more long flagella for swimming. Oogenesis is the production or development of an ovum.

spermatogenesis - formation of sperm in the testes.

oogenesis - formation of eggs in the ovaries.
