I m pregnant with my first and I didn't feel any movement until I was 20 weeks. Everyone feels movement at different weeks, I am now 26 weeks and everything is still going great so I wouldn't worry.

Could be kicking...could be gas. I struggled to figure out what was and wasn't the baby around the same time (16 weeks). At first I got what I called the "fishbowl" which literally felt like a squishy feeling in my lower abdomen around 17 weeks. Then around 19 weeks I really started to feel the bubble or thumping feeling. Now I'm at 22 weeks and he won't stop moving! Everyone has different experiences with the when and how of baby kicking and this was mine. If you lay on your back you can often feel the movement easier. Good luck and hang in there.

Most first-time moms don't feel the baby until about 18 weeks; moms who have had children before generally recognize the feeling at about 16 weeks, since they have felt it so many times before. Since you're at 16 weeks, it's entirely possible you could feel the baby move; I don't know about "butterflies" - for me, it was simply a light movement low in my abdomen (NOT my stomach). It's not a strong kick at this point; just a light sensation of something moving. I think in a couple of weeks, you'll definitely know it when you feel it.

Congrats!

I am on my second and i am currently 18 wks . I started feeling them about 1 1/2 to 2 wks ago so that put me about 16. I know I am on my second and they say you feel it earlier...but my first is almost 4 years old....so its been 4 years since I 've felt it. For a while there I couldn't tell if it was gas or not....well....because i was having alot of gas too...:) But a few weeks ago i was certain that it was kicks....about one week ago I felt the kicks and immediatly put my hand over where I felt them and I finally felt them on the outside(with my hand, not internally). Till this day every time I try to get my fiance to feel them it stops.....He says " you are just too excited and imagining it" ....yea right.....i can understand him saying that when i felt it internally, but my darn hand got kicked...so i know I am. Well anyway...you probably are...I can't say it feels like butterflies...because i dont think it does....its almost like when you have gas and you feel that bubble inside move...kind of like that....at first...later it gets more obvious.

it is possible.. a kick her a kick there.. it can happen.. alot of people describe it as butterflys because usually that early on all we have felt are slight movements and not full blown kicks.. when you get a little farther along you will know a roll from a kick and a punch from a head butt.. it's a wonderful experience and i hope you have fun with it :) have a great night :D

I have had 4 kids, I never felt butterflies, my babies were pretty mellow with a punch or kick thrown from inside not constant, they have their times further down the line, you'll feel them rolling and giving you some good jabs. Don't worry, enjoy!

I started feeling my son kick around the 5th month. If you are going for your monthly visits at your doctor and you hear the heart and such, your baby is fine. Remember, every women is different, so if someone felt their baby kick at 16 weeks and you haven't, it does not mean something is wrong.
