Most likely DC. A furnace motor would be AC, most portable fans would be AC, automotive motors would be DC.

Just as the name suggests, an electric motor runs by electricity. Check out the yo bikes made my electrotherm, they run on built in DC batteries. Whereas the electric trains in which we commute, they run on AC (getting their supply from overhead lines).

DC is usually about 24 volts or less and is Direct Current.
AC is about 110 volts and above. Alternating Current.
You can check the voltage with a DVOM (Digital Volt Ohm Meter)
