Because the holidays can bring the best feelings and also the worst feelings. Some people get lonely and depressed if they have no friends, significant others, or family. People worry too much about buying the perfect gift and losing weight that they forget about the important stuff. No one I know is in the holiday spirit and its bummin' me out.

Take a look at the state of the country, that should answer ur question....our boys getting killed in Iraq for no reason, fuel prices
sky-rocketing, economy in shambles, on and on. To make matters worse, Xmas has become a commercial holiday, a frenzy of who can buy the most, who can over decorate the most. The real reason Xmas is celebrated has been lost to greed. What the country needs , is a slice of humble pie, starting with the govt. on down the line. Lets all get back to the true meaning of Christmas, that's where the spirit begins.

Because Christmas has warped from a Season of Thankfulness and Joy into one where the Commercialization (and greed of the merchants/manufacturers) has OVERCOME the Thanksgiving Holidays, and now ... even a couple of weeks BEFORE Halloween the Christmas Push for Conspicuous Consumption is begun.
Unfortunately, the Advertisers know who to target with their 'seductive' messages -- those most vulnerable to the messages they send out -- our children. And growing up with so many advertisements, the latest wiz-bang device, the newest hot toy, and all the conspicuous consumption -- it just breeds more and more greed.

People have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas. People are out to see who can spend the most money, but there are a lot of families who wont have a Christman due to financial problems, maybe some of their family is in service, the hurricance, but you know even if we dont have a lot of presents to give to, then we ought to get down on our knees and remeber why we celebrate Christmas for. As long as familes can be together it doesnt matter if we have presents, we all need to have more love for each other.

I think it is harder to get in the Spirit of Christmas this year because we have so many things going on in our world that we cannot control. It seems like things are falling apart at the seams. I think if we all tried to grasp the reason for the season it might make it easier. It is hard to enjoy the Holidays when there is so much bad going on, but if we think about the true meaning of Christmas it might give us hope of a better tomorrow.

For me it always comes down to a lack of funds to be able to do what I really want to "give" at this time of year. I shopped super early this year and have no money now to go out and get extra little goodies for those I love. So bah hum bug. I'm not in the spirit now. Then again maybe it's just cause of a gloomy time of year. Weather modd swings can play a big roll.

I haven't been for many years! Way too commercial! I prefer to spend the holiday time with friends and family in a kind of kicked back mode. Don't need gifts(have too much junk already). I tend to look at the holiday period as a time to finish little projects around the house and spend a little too much time reading and sleeping. Just and R&R state of mind,,,,,:-)=
