There are plenty of guitars at Guitar Center for under $200. I'd personally recommend an Ibanez G10. I believe Epiphone also makes a few models for that pice.

I suggest Ebay, I have both bought and sold guitars off of ebay and always gotten a good deal. Just make sure you get all the information you need before you bid, unfortunatly there are lots of shady listings. BUt if you look hard you can score a sweet guitar for cheap!

Another place would be classified ads. There are plenty of people who buy guitars thinking their going to learn how to play it but don't stick with it. After you find out from the seller what kind of guitar it is you could always contact a store & ask them what they think about it (you don't have to tell them you're thinking of buying one thru an ad in the paper).

get a guitar from the company called Harmony, i just got an electric guitar it's very nice for beginners like you and me, very nice quailty too, and best of all it only cost about $150 and it came with an amp!

I bought a pretty good one from Cosco... i was $189, and it included an extra set of strings, a cord, amp, neck strap, gig bag, 3 picks, and some other stuff. It's a Fender.

Walmart sells them really cheap at least they do here in Ct just look where they sell eye glasses that's where they have them lol
