Yes -- but that doesn't necessarily mean it has been used or won't be as good as new. For example, someone might have bought a white one, opened the box and took it back for a black one. I bought my laptop from Overstock.com and it is refurbished -- I saved a ton of money, and I haven't ever had a problem. If you can get a warranty, refurbished can save you a lot of money.

I gave my mom my old iPod because I got a new one (I spilled gatorade all over it and it made the screen all messed up and the hold button also didn't work; but the iPod itself still worked). Anyways, she didn't like it so she went to the apple store and paid something like $80 for a refurbished one (exact same size/model) and it literally looks and works like BRAND NEW. It is a good deal.
