1.Buy a small gift. Put it in a small box and wrap it. Put that box in a slightly larger box with paper stuffing and wrap it. Continue doing that so that the person has 6 or 7 boxes to unwrap before getting to the gift.
2. Buy a lot of toilet paper. Wrap the gift in roll after roll of toilet paper.
3. Wrap a box with a clue in it. When the person opens that box, he/she has to follow that clue to the next clue, which is in another wrapped box. Do as many as you have the energy to do before the person finally finds the gift.

i really like the second answer that Phoenix gave about the ugly box camouflaging the real gift.
Another good wrapping trick is to wrap the box securely with a whole roll of duct tape. It makes it nearly impossible to open it without scissors.

My mom used to get a kick out of getting us kids at least one smaller gift... wrapping it up...then putting it in a box just a little bigger, and then wrapping it.....and so on, until it was a pretty good size package. It usually ended up in 8-10 boxes; each a little bigger than the last....and each individually wrapped.

Put some marbles in the box with a thick old glass (shot glass would be good) so that when they shake it, it sounds like they broke it. Act horrified.
Or, get an ugly old jewelry box or something and put the real present inside, so that when they are disappointed at the crappy gift you can watch them squirm and ask where they will put it before telling them the real present is inside.

My brother-in-law did this prank on my sister one Christmas. He used so much tape on the box it was almost impossible to get into! I bet he used 2 rolls on one box. It sounds simple, but it was really funny.

Well... there's the thing that my older brother did to my younger brother... he wrapped the present like 15 times. He did that to my younger nephew too.

Ive never tried any of them. i used to put a mouse trap in my Xmas stocking and if it wasn't too cold id nip out and cover the chimney with cling film, ha he spent hours bouncing off it and trying to get in.
