If your plasma supports it, VGA would be best Not all plasmas have VGA ports, many times they only have HDMI or DVI ports and the standard video ports.

VGA runs on a 5-wire (RGBHV) video signal. Component is a 3 wire video signal. S-video is 2 wire. Composite is 1 wire. As you can see, there is a pattern. Less wires, less bandwidth, therefore worst video quality.

What you're seeing is the video reveal resolutions.. it really is why you do not see the easy 720 or 1080 decision. So there are 2 codecs to %. from.. 4:3 ratio and 16:9 ratio. because you've a 40 2 inch plasma, it should be 16:9 which leaves you with the following thoughts to %. from: 848X480 1280X720 1360X768 the better the decision, the further perfect the photo. So commence off my choosing 1360X768.. if each and every thing seems good, you're waiting. If the photo doesn't look on your television, opt for 1280X720
