There used to be a show about African tribes in the seventies called Wild Kingdom. But it showed females running around with their boobs showing and that isn't appropriate now.

There are plenty of shows on the history channel about ancient Egypt, an "African" empire as well as programs on DVD (released by the History channel) about the ancient Nubian empire, now Sudan. You can find those titles on their website, or at a Discovery channel store. There aren't many programs on the subject recently, but a couple of years ago, that was all that was on. There are many articles on history.com about the subject.

hahaha you still ask? ;)
if they show anything like that its only on the discovery channel. you know its rare that the history channel or most channels for that part show any history other than european decent. other than from egypt or isreal and thats only when they speak on biblical shows
they dont think any other culture is important or relevant it seems

I have seen a great piece on the Zulu tribes of Africa on the history channel. Tribal history, I think, is hard to document...tribes of yore probably did not have a modern system of written language and so it is hard to piece together the who's, when's, why's and how's....

Don't they? I recall seeing something about Mali. But maybe it wasn't the history channel.

Maybe they do and you just never seem to be watching TV at that moment. Your best bet would be to write them and ask them to show something.

Because they don't want it to appear that we are looking down on them.
