It's a petroleum product. It's pretty benign, not harmful at all. It has no moisturizing or medicinal properties. It does not get absorbed by skin. But it works by sealing the affected area, like chapped lips or a wound, preventing moisture loss or contamination with germs.

petroleum jelly. Used as a lubricant and for severe cases of dry skin, moisturizer. It's clear. It's used as personal hygiene but is used around the house commonly (that's what I meant by lubricant). Sometimes it's used for lifting stains and other stuff. I think it's gross and sticky so I don't have any, but it's very common. I bet your mom has some.

Vaseline...Mm.. It is from petroleum U can smell it and it is kind of moisturizer, U can use it to your lip and any part of you body to moisture it like elbow, knee and so on. That's what I know about Vaseline.

Vaseline is petroleum jelly. I use it to my heels...put some vaseline to your feet...wear a cotton socks....It's pretty good...But I don't think u should use it to ur face.....
