Which type of gourami? Every 30-40 days.

Sorry to hear about your babies. Next time, take a brineshrimp net, cup out the lining and wrap the mesh around the filter intake. Secure it with an elastic band or some string.

Ok, I am not sure what type of gourami you have, however, I wonder if perhaps the other fish ate the eggs?
I used to breed cichlids and after the eggs were fertilized, the males would scoop up the eggs and hold them in their mouth.
When the eggs were starting to hatch (you could see the tails coming out of the eggs) I would make the male spit the eggs into a net and then transfer them to another tank until they could be safely returned to the other fish.
The next time you have eggs, I would put the other fish into another tank until the eggs have hatched. I normally just heated and kept an air stone in the tank that was hatching the babies. I did not use a filter in the baby tank.

Another tip to prevent fry from being drawn into the intake tube - old pantyhose held over the intake with a rubber band!
