These aren't my personal recipes but they do come from the cookbook that used to belong to my husband's grandmother. We love that she left it in his possession and are always fond of peeking inside for helpful hints and tried - and - true recipes.
(Christmas cookies)
1¾ cups sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) good oleo or butter
4 cups flour
2 large eggs
1 level t soda
1 t vanilla
⅓ t salt
1 t butter flavoring
Cream oleo, add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs and beat in. mix in vanilla and butter flavorings. Stir salt and soda into flour. Add flour a little at a time to egg mixture. Dough will be very thick. Can be shaped into rolls, chilled and sliced. For Christmas cookies, roll out on lightly floured surface. Cut desired shapes. Bake on lightly greased cookie sheets at 350° for 10 – 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

White Mountain Icing (Allegretti)
½ cup sugar
¼ cup white karo
2 T water
2 egg whites
1 t vanilla
Boil sugar, karo and water to firm balls stage (242°). Cooks quickly. Beat egg whites until stiff enough to peak. Pour hot syrup slowly over whites while beating. Add vanilla and mix.
Makes nice soft workable icing.

Jello Pudding Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 package chocolate INSTANT Jello Pudding
2 eggs
1 package (11-12 oz.) chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour and baking soda. In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, vanilla, the sugars, and pudding mix. Add eggs, beat until smooth. Slowly add flour mixture, then chips. Place rounded tablespoonfuls on a cookie sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 375 degrees. They won't look done, but they are perfect.

White Christmas ::
3 cups rice bubbles (Rice Krispies)
1 cup mixed fruit
1 cup dessicated coconut
1 cup dry powdered milk
3/4 cup of sifted icing sugar
225 grams copha (shortening) its white but turns clear when melted)
drop of vanilla essence
1.Put 3 cups of rice bubbles(krispies), 1 cup of mixed fruit,essence,
dessicated coconut, dry powdered milk and 3/4 sifted icing sugar in a bowl.
2. Melt 225 grams copha in saucepan. Add copha to dry ingredients in bowl
and mix well.
3. Press mixture firmly into a biscuit tray. Set in a refrigerator. Cut into squares.
Makes a nice little christmas gift if placed in cellophane and decorated with ribbons.

Frosted Reindeer Cookies
Prep Time: 40 min ; Start to Finish: 55 min
Makes: 32 cookies Nutrition Information
Just shape the Create 'n Bake™ cookie dough into a triangle log and slice for fun reindeer cookies ready in a flash.
1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® Create 'n Bake™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup vanilla ready-to-spread frosting
64 small pretzel twists
64 semisweet chocolate chips (about 1/4 cup)
16 gumdrops, cut in half
1 . Heat oven to 350°F. In large bowl, break up cookie dough; work flour into dough until well blended. Shape roll of cookie dough into triangle-shaped log. (If dough is too soft to cut, place in freezer 30 minutes.)
2 . With thin sharp knife, cut dough into 32 (1/4-inch-thick) triangular slices; place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
3 . Bake 7 to 11 minutes or until set. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
4 . Frost cookies with frosting. Place 2 pretzel twists on each triangle near corners for antlers. Lightly press 2 chocolate chips into each cookie for eyes and 1 halved gumdrop for nose. Store between sheets of waxed paper in tightly covered container.
Santa's Houses
Prep Time: 1 hr ; Start to Finish: 1 hr 30 min
Makes: 8 cookies Nutrition Information
Make gingerbread houses without rolling out dough or using cookie cutters. Simply the best!
1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated holiday gingerbread cookies
Decorating icing (from 6.4-oz aerosol can)
Multi-Bran Chex® cereal
Assorted small candies
1 . Heat oven to 350°F. Cut cookie dough into 8 equal pieces. Work with 1 piece of dough at a time; refrigerate remaining dough pieces until needed.
2 . For each cookie, cut 1 piece of dough into 3 equal slices. Place 2 slices side by side on ungreased cookie sheet; press into 3x3 1/2-inch rectangle (see photo). Place third slice on center of long side of rectangle; press slice into triangle for roof (house should be about 5 inches tall). Repeat with remaining dough making a total of 8 house shapes, 1 1/2 inches apart on cookie sheets.
3 . Bake 8 to 11 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
4 . Decorate with decorating icing; use cereal for shingles and candy for house features. Let stand until frosting is set, about 30 minutes. Store between sheets of waxed paper in tightly covered container.

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® Create 'n Bake™ refrigerated sugar cookies
1/4 roll (16.5 oz size) Pillsbury® Create 'n Bake™ refrigerated gingerbread cookies
Round or flower-shaped candy sprinkles
40 miniature candy-coated chocolate baking bits
Drinking straw
Red sugar
Red and green decorating icing or gel (or other colors as desired)
1 . Heat oven to 350ºF. Remove half of sugar cookie dough from wrapper; refrigerate remaining dough until needed. Cut half of dough into 15 (about 1/4 inch) slices. Leave 10 slices whole to resemble carolers' heads. On ungreased large cookie sheet, place 2 inches apart.
2 . Cut remaining 5 slices in half crosswise to make collars and hats (see photo). For collars, cut half slice into 2 pieces and attach under head. For hats, shape half slice of dough with fingers into hat shape; do not attach at this point.
3 . Place small portions of gingerbread dough into garlic press. Press to make long, short and medium hair; attach to heads gently. Add hats to top of heads as desired.
4 . Place candy sprinkles (blue or green) on face for eyes. With drinking straw, poke hole for mouth. If desired, shape small pieces of gingerbread dough for earmuffs. Sprinkle red sugar on cheeks to resemble blush. Repeat with remaining half of dough.
5 . Bake 11 to 13 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; carefully remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. If necessary, re-poke holes for mouths. Cool completely, about 15 minutes. Decorate hats, collars and faces with decorating icing.
