A friend at work has been seeing a guy for about a month. They aren't real serious but she finds out tonight that some nights while he is at work (he works 3rd shift) his ex-girlfriend comes over so his dog doesn't have to stay in a kennel all night. He told my friend that these two are just good friends and nothing ever happens between them. He told her that once he is in a serious relationship he will stop having her come over. This just sounds bizarre to me, what do you guys think?

I should also add that she usually sleeps on the couch but sometimes she sleeps in his bed!

I think a lot of people are friends with their ex and often it can have little meaning. Many people can actually be friends after they've broken up, assuming they've decided they're not a match.

However, there can also be a risk that there are still feelings for the ex-girlfriend lingering. Sounds like it could also be a case of - keep the ex hanging around until something better comes along.

Tell your friend to be careful and if her gut is telling her he's still got feelings for his ex, believe it - there's nothing like Woman's Intuition when it comes to these things! A free guy is worth waiting for.

Does this guy not have any other friends that can let the dog out of the kennel? I'm sure he's got a buddy who'd help him out for a beer or something.

I was in a situation where my bf left for boot camp and his dogs were in the care of his ex-girlfriend. I wasn't too keen about that idea, but I "trusted" him. When we got the chance to talk I'd ask him if he had been talking to his ex and he'd tell me "yes", but just about the dogs. Anyway, 2 months into his tech. training he gets weird. I asked him what was wrong several times and he finally comes clean and tells me he's been talking to the ex and she wanted him to move back in with her when he got back. Well he broke my heart and that was that.... I don't want to sound bitter, just tell your friend to watch out!

It could be completely innocent also.... she just needs to find out.

That is so messed up. Why does the dog have to be in a kennel anyway? There is some lieing going on I can tell you that much. I hope your friend aint falling for this crap!!!! And if he is so cincerned about his dog what does he do with the dog when he is working any shift why is third shift so diffrent. Tell your friend not to fall for his crap leave the lier.
