My computer makes this weird noise when I go to certain web sites. Some people have told me it's because someone is gaing access to my wireless network. Now my computer is telling me that there are critical system errors and that I have viruses. How can I fix this?

Some of the weird noises are from Internet Explorer settings that play a sound when an active X control or something else is blocked. If it's a moaning sound, stop going to those sites, sicko.

Most routers have their own IP address that you type into your browser to configure. Follow the steps through and you should be able to set an encryption level. Read the manual. I only do 64 bit WEP since a quick talk with my neighbors reveals that even this is probably overkill.

Why don't you have updated anti-virus software running? Try some of the free thirty-day trials that are offered from Download.com to temporarily fix your issues. But then you need to buy something.

If all else fails, you may need to do a system restore.

You will need to access your router - see your documentation since every router is different.

When you reach the Admin screens you should consider only allowing computers by MAC address to access your wireless (that's the number of every adapter that you approve of). You can get that on every computer you approve by typing ipconfig /all in the Run from your Start menu.

The noise thing is new to me.

take your computer to a local person to fix it and get all the bad stuff/viruses/spyware outta it and then invest in a quality spyware/virus scan to prevent that from happening again and make sure your pop-ups are turned off.
