everyone has the right to be sad or depressed regardless of what has happened to them, or not happened.. they are human emotions. the question is do you want to be sad and depressed? emotins are hard to control at times, but they are something that we need to acknowledge and deal with personally and stop comparing ourselves to others.

Each person has a right to their own feelings: sad, happy, etc. The experience of rape is horrendous, and in a perfect world would not be experienced by anyone. These are two separate issues that are being discussed here.

No one should blame you for being depressed. You may wish to seek the help of a professional to find ways to cope and understand the reason for your depression.

Best wishes.

being depressed is never your fault! and rape isn't the only reason people get depressed. there's no such thing as having the "right" to be depressed because it is something that you cant control. and i dont know why anyone would blame someone for being depressed no matter what happened to make them that way.

rape is only one of many many MANY reasons to be depressed.

I do think you have a right to be depressed because of rape, because it's extremely traumatic. I also think, that you shouldn't wallow in your sadness, but try and move on and become stronger.

I don't ever think rape is the "fault" of a person. no one ever "asks" that of someone, slutty clothes or not.

you know what: it's fall and no matter how perfect your life may look on the outside, in fall/winter many people develop depressions
it happens mostly to creative people/deep thinkers and it's a combination of the weather and whatever else bothers them -
though you'll have a hard time explaining your problem to practical people
