Yes and no it all depends on what you are embarrassed with? I would either confront it or retreat because sometimes I need my space to think.

I find sometimes it's best to back off especially if hurtful things were said because I wouldn't want to say something I would be sorry about. For me it's a time of reflection prayer and working through forgiveness to the offender.

Especially if it's between two people then you also need to give each other the time to think about what was done or said. It's important to work it out so that you don't become bitter towards that person. Once you have taken time away you can always go back to them and talk about it when you are ready to talk about it.

A sense of embarrassment in any situation causes me to retreat like a turtle into its shell, every time. At least for a little while.
