I have a roomate and we share a one bedroom apartment together. When we signed the lease she wasn't working and it was just me paying the bills. When we signed the lease, she signed it as nonemployed. She works now and We now have our differences. We have eight months left in our lease and i do not want to live with her anymore, but both of our names are tied to the lease. Is there anything that i can do to get her out of the house, being that i paid the rent to the rental office for so long? Can the lease be legally voided now that she works? How can i get her out of my hair? i am in a situation that i do not want to be in anymore.

I was having the same problem except I had 11 months left on my lease. My roommate told me that she was not leaving and I asked the office of the place a rent from and they said once you sign the lease you are pretty much stuck. My suggestion would be to go to your office and ask if there is a way to get the roommate out of the apartment, or see how much it would be to break the lease. The best thing to do though would be to try and talk to your roommate and see if you can work out your differences. It sucks, I know, but since I had no other option this is what I did and it has helped! I dont know if this will help any but I feel your pain!

Just because she was unemployed when you signed the lease doesn't mean that because she has a job it is void. I am afraid that the only way to get rid of her is to ask her move out and you pay the full rent. If she does not like that plan then you are stuck with her unless she has done something that the landlord may not want to hear about *wink*

nope. the lease cant be voide because she works

You ahve to sepak with the landlord, and you can give your complaint to them/him/her

He/she/they can issue a notice of termination of lease with her, and give her 30 days to move out.

unless you agreed before signing the lease ,that she was to apy you back for covering her expenses., you cant get any money back from her.

Have you talked to her about starting to pay? If not do so, if she declines, and i think she will, tell her she can't stay if she doesn't pay!
