Wouldn't that have done away with all of the arguing and nonsense and subjective decisions that everyone seems to be so upset about?

Oh, and also, what is the meaning of life? The powers that be could solve a lot of headaches by revealing the answer to both of these questions.

The real question is what has Michigan done to deserve an opportunity to play against Ohio State for the national championship. Michigan already lost to Ohio State, didn't win their conference the only team they beat was a VERY overrated Notre Dame team (with two losses). They also play a very tough schedule featuring teams like: Central Michigan, Ball State, Northwestern, Michigan State, Indiana, Minnesota and a very bad Iowa team whereas our future NATIONAL CHAMPS Florida played: Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida State, Arkansas, Kentucky...seems rather clear who has the harder schedule. GO SEC!!!!

It's all based on the BCS rankings. As others before me said, the NCAA does not create special games for cases like this. No solution, including a playoff, will stop the arguing.

Because there is a structure that NCAA has to follow. They can't just create a new game for them to battle it out to see who has dibs against Ohio. If this supposed game was allowed, all the other teams would start whining about how they should be allowed games to see who can be in what bowl and what not.

There would be no need for one, Michigan had their chance and lost. Why should Ohio State have to play a team they have already beaten?

Its because the NCAA is unstructured like someone said before me.
They have no boundaries and guidelines to how to resolve any matter in college football.
It really sucks
and so does the BCS.
end of story

They could, they should, they won't. This is the argument every year and it will always be the argument. I think that at least this year they gave it to the right team because Michigan had their shot.
