Than I do those pertaining to my own? Is it a natural impulse of human reasoning to feel more proficient at solving the problems of others? It's as if I feel at ease when I know I can help another person with any particular dilemma.

Remember the expression "you can't see the forest for the trees"it's one my dad said to me often.when your in the middle off the forest the trees look huge and over whelming but when it's someone elses forest you can stand back and look from an outsider point of view .Try this ,try being an outsider in your own troubles ,look at things and questions as if you were answering someone elses problems.

I think it is easier for any of us to solve problems that we ourselves are not personally involved in - I think its the emotions and our own "face" as it were in personal relationships that keeps us from being able to be so smart and reasonable with our own issues.

Hindsight is 20/20. You are insightful, but it's always difficult to solve one's own problems than someone else's because you don't have to deal with the conclusions to whatever problem they were having.

Some times its easier because you are an outsider seeing their problems. But my experience is tough to look inside and change stuff. Sounds normal to me.
