Weak bases can be used to neutralize acid spills, for example baking soda or egg white. Note that attempting to neutralize an acid spill with a strong base, such as lye or ammonia, can cause a violent reaction, and the base itself may cause just as much damage as the original acid spill.

Best I could find sorry, if you can link that to glasses - good luck!

Instead of egg whites, try a little white vinegar diluted in water, that's the best kitchen item to clean glass with.

I've heard of egg white being used as a glue. I hardly think it could clean glasses. I clean my reading glasses under hot water with hand soap and blow dry them (with mouth). This will never streak or scratch.

Well, it might get your glasses clean (I doubt it), but you will get sick as a dog from the raw egg if you don't wash your hands and your glass afterwards. Which leads me to this: Why bother cleaning with egg whites, if you will have to wash yourself afterwards?
