psychologists do not treat alcoholism in a person one on one, that person must go to Alcoholics Anonymous or the equivalent addiction-specific group therapy or residential treatment facility if they aren't religious. this is because addicts lie to themselves and to others and when they are in a group, then can see when others are lying, which prevents them from doing so.

The best treatment for alcoholism is Alcoholics Anonymous. It is free and it works.
