Implementation is the process of installation & configuration of a given solution or software program. The consultant might walk a client through a many week or month "implementation" of software that is being tailored to their specific needs. The process of customization and unique tweaks made to the system to make it work in your environment would be considered part of the process.

Implementation means.... to put into action or to use. Example... We are going to release this new software for implementation next April. Or ... That companies method of implementation is all wrong, first of all, they didn't notify all of their users that their old applications would be decomissioned.
