I never dress up and I am a little "bigger boned". I don't like to show off my arms and under the sweater I am wearing a t-shirt that matches my trouser gaucho style pants. My fiance is wearing a shirt and tie. Too casual?

Morton's steak house chain is high end ($$$$). Your fiance is wearing a tie which takes it above business casual. Cocktail dresses are not bad things to have along with simple jewelry (not a prom dress). There will be some well dressed people there, and you do not want to be too casual. Dress slacks can work with a nice top. I would think that this is special in some way for your fiance to make the reservations and wear a tie. Ask him what his opinion is about what you might best wear—you are about to become a married couple! He knows your styles, wardrobe and bones. If the two of you are comfortable, you will have a wonderful evening. Enjoy!

Just found this:

"What is the dress code at Morton's?

We recommend business attire or smart casual wear at Morton's. For men, a collared shirt and dress pants are appropriate, while a jacket and tie are not necessary, though many of our male guests will be wearing a men's business suit. For women, business wear or nice casual attire would be most comfortable. Jeans, T-shirts, shorts and sandals are not recommended for dining at Morton's."

You can log into Morgan's and preview their menu and get an idea about what you might be sampling. Again enjoy!

i would definitaley say a nice cocktail dress would by far be the safest way to go. you dont want to go to a fancy resteraunt and be wearing jeans and everyone else be dressen really nice. then you would feel more out of place. check around, im sure you can find a store who deald in custom made clothes and could probably make something or at least help you find something that would look flattering on you and sometimes certain clothing can actually make certain parts of you look smaller. good luck and have fun. im sure you will look great no matter what.

Morton's is not "high end" It's a nice restaurant, no doubt, but it's not the best. Dressing up in a business-casual outfit is fine. Morton's is a little more upscale than a t-shirt.

You should wear a nice pair of pants (dress pants) and a nice top - something kinda dressy and feminine. You don't want to look sloppy , so I'd ditch the gaucho's and the t-shirt.

Do you mean Morton's Steakhouse? I would wear a nice pair of dress pants and a nice top, maybe something a little sparkly to celebrate the holidays.

Well, I'm not arguing with anyone but, you can go to Morton's in nice jeans if you want. My girlfriends and I go to dinner there every couple months. I wear really nice jeans (designer) and a nice sweater. I think you should stick with pants. You will fit in and it will be fine. Have fun!

I might dress up a bit more, but a cocktail dress would not be appropriate.
