Polyhedrons are solids with flat faces. A special class of polyhedra called "regular polyhedra" and certain others exhibit symmetry. Examples would be a cube, a tetrahedron, a octohedron, but while there are only 5 Euclidian solids, there's an infinity of polyhedra that have symmetry. Irregular polyhedra are all the rest which do not have symmetry. Examples would be a sawed-off cube, sawed off tetrahedron, sawed off octohedron, so that symmetry is lost. The term "irregular polyhedron" is not a frequently used term, because it's loosely defined.
