Caridee won. Here's what happened:
Eugena & Melrose Are Eliminated, CariDee Wins Top Model
The final three
After weeks of working the runway, posing for pictures, and sometimes baring claws for in house catfights, the final three models vie for the coveted title of America’s Next Top Model. Caridee, Eugena, and Melrose are the last three standing.
America’s CoverGirl
The girls head off for the most important photo shoot yet. The CoverGirl photo shoot is crucial since the AMNTM boasts a $100,000 CoverGirl contract. Watching the models shoot the CoverGirl commercial is always fun to watch, and the beauty shots that are taken are probably the most difficult shots of the competition, focusing only on the model’s face and natural beauty.
Surprising shoot
I have to admit, I was a bit thrown off by what I saw in the shoot.
Melrose, who is usually so calm and collected, seemed really nervous. Eugena, who usually radiates absolutely zero passion, was smiling and positively glowing. Caridee did a great job once she calmed down. Once again, she had shifted into her “over the top” mode.
What the heck is Melrose wearing?
As the girls strode into panel time for their judges critique, I can’t even begin to describe what Melrose was wearing. It was some sort-of short catsuit with stockings under it. I’ve never seen her look so strange.
And then there were two
As the judges critique the girls, I wasn’t sure who would go home. I figured it would be Melrose or Eugena. Caridee’s beauty shot was stunning. Eugena’s was also stunning. The judges remarked it was her best in the competition, but when they asked her if she really wanted to be a model, she responded with an emotionless, “Yes,” that failed to convince me. Melrose, who had taken amazing photos in the past, didn’t shine in her beauty shot. The judges were disappointed. Nigel commented that he didn’t know if it was that she was nervous or if she just didn’t have what it took to pull off a beauty shot.
Things shift for me
I had always thought Melrose deserved to win the competition, but this is when I began to wonder if Nigel was right. Melrose definitely didn’t pull off the shot. She has performed so well in the competition, but it hasn’t come effortlessly to her. She has been a perfectionist who has worked her butt off to rock every shoot.
Eugena goes home
When Eugena is sent home, Caridee is visibly shaken. As Melrose and Caridee hug her goodbye, Caridee vows, “I’ll get this for you. I promise.”
Words of encouragement
Back at the house, Eugena left Caridee a note that read, “Walk your *** off on that runway, cause a natural blonde needs to win.”
Battle of the blondes
It was ironic that the two girls who despised each other were battling it out for the AMNTM title. They headed off for their Seventeen shoot, and the magazine crew sung the praises of each girl. They loved Caridee’s passion and personality, and they thought Melrose had a unique look.
Ghostly brides
What a fun runway show viewers were treated to as the girls gave it their final, best shot to claim the title of AMNTM. Dressed as ghostly brides, the girls did look fierce on the runway! Melrose totally rocked the runway. She looked like a total pro except for the way she came unglued when Caridee stepped on her dress and actually ripped it. Caridee was a bit overdramatic. Some of the theatrics totally negated the fact that she was supposed to be modeling. Some of her facial expressions were even downright ugly…
Mrs. J on the runway
The treat of the evening was watching Mrs. J rock the runway in his hideous black wedding dress.
And it all boils down to this…
After weeks of hard work, dedication, prayers, and anticipation, it all boiled down to that final panel. As Melrose and Caridee approached the judges, they both looked very much like models… models who had come a long way in the past weeks. Who would it be? Should Caridee win? Should Melrose win? It really was anybody’s guess since Caridee disappointed judges at the fashion show while Melrose shined, but Caridee rocked the photo while Melrose didn’t measure up.
And the winner is…
Caridee! She burst into genuine tears, elated. Melrose handled it gracefully, managing not to burst into total tears. She did comment later, “It’s just bum city right now.”

Caridee did, unfortunately. Melrose knew so much more about the industry, and consistently performed better (ie. winning the contests) All Caridee did was complain about Melrose the entire episode. The lady protests too loudly, methinks? Sounds like someone was a bit jealous. Oh well, I just hope that my experience and creativity isn't being overlooked just because another applicant looks as though they may be exciting.
