OK, I don't mean to say that the Cubs have a completely new home uniform this year, but it seems different from last year. I noticed on shop.mlb.com that the Authentic Cubs Home uniform will have the player number and name on the backside, instead of just the number. Did they make a mistake or are the Cubs really switching back to the names on the home jerseys like they did a few years ago???

i think of Cubs administration could desire to place their money promptly into the product--the group on the sector--and forget approximately approximately making average variations to a emblem that hasn't been a champion in an exceedingly long term. Will new uniforms earnings the Cubs employer? of direction they're going to. yet that they had make a persevering with properly of sources if that they had insist upon fielding a perennial winner.

There are Yankee, Red Sox and Dodger jerseys on the same site with names and numbers on the back too. These old line teams are not changing their jerseys on the field. mlb.com finds the jerseys more marketable with the names.

I prefer without. There's more tradition. Now that Manny Ramierez is getting shopped, that 24 can be for Dewey Evans, one of my Sox favorites. JD Drew will take Trot Nixon's 7. I don't want Drew's name disgracing the jersey of Trot, Rick Burleson (a real gamer) and Dominic DiMaggio.

Keep it real and buy your jersey from the stadium shop.

That 'just the number on the back' look was used, at most, two years(recently of course, I'm not sure if they did it back in the old days). They are switching back to the usual names and numbers on the jerseys. shop.mlb.com is correct.
